How do you feel about law?*
- I never really think about it and prefer other subjects, but I’m sure it can be an interesting degree course

Is it the practice of law or the study of law that appeals to you the most?*
- Neither one appeals to me more, I can switch between thinking about something in detail and seeing the bigger picture. I also enjoy applying my knowledge practically as well analysing theoretical elements of a subject.
- The practice! I am really looking forward to working as a lawyer and helping clients. I am a ‘big picture’ thinker and particularly enjoy applying my knowledge in real-life situations.
- The study! I really enjoy thinking about the little details and analysing subjects in depth. I like conducting research and discussing topics with those who are just as passionate about academic study as I am.

Do you feel comfortable studying a lot of subjects in a short space of time?*
- Yes, I am confident that I will be able to manage a high workload across a broad range of modules.
- No, I prefer to study a handful of subjects at a time in relative detail.
- I do not have a preference – I will do my best to tackle whatever challenges are thrown at me!

How do you feel about not being able to choose any optional modules?*
- I enjoy being able to choose some modules but only being able to study compulsory options will not affect my decision to pursue a course.
- I am really keen to study one or two very specific areas of law. I would also like to be able to choose from a wide range of elective modules.
- I do not mind studying only compulsory modules, I am sure there will be plenty of opportunities for me to specialise after the conversion!

In your opinion, which of the following will best prepare you for a career in law?*
- A high grade in any undergraduate degree subject followed by the GDL to gain the essential legal knowledge, and work experience to develop practical skills.
- I think there is a wide range of ways to prepare yourself for a successful legal career, including work experience and academic study which does not necessarily have to involve an undergraduate law degree.
- An undergraduate law degree is the best way to gain a thorough understanding of law, while work experience will allow you to utilise your skills in practice.

How important is cost?*
- I would prefer not to pay the extra fees just to complete the GDL after a non-law degree. I already know the field I want to work in and completing the undergraduate law degree will reduce my fees by one year.
- I would rather pay more to study an undergraduate degree I am passionate about and then complete the GDL which will allow me to pursue a legal career.
- Cost is not the deciding factor as long as I am studying a subject I enjoy, regardless of whether I have to convert to law later on.

Would you prefer to study a degree with a strong reputation?*
- I do not think that the reputation of a particular course matters at all. As long as you get a good grade and complete all the required stages, the route you take should not matter.
- I think reputation is important. Even if you do not end up working in the field you studied, a degree with an excellent reputation, which is recognised in a variety of job-sectors, can only be a benefit.
- I think there are other factors more important than reputation, such as whether you enjoy the course and the sector you want to work in.

Do you want to gain experience in several different fields?*
- I am not completely sure what subject I want to study or which sector I want to work in. I think I will only know for sure once I gain some experience!
- I know now that I want to study law and pursue a legal career so I am not interested in gaining experience in any other field. I am much more focused on gaining specific and in-depth experience in law.
- I definitely want to have the opportunity to study or work in more than one sector and utilise my diverse expertise in any profession.

If you were in a job interview, how would you demonstrate your commitment to law?*
- I have studied the undergraduate law degree which shows that I have been committed from the start. The unique challenges of this discipline have developed my determination and resilience
- Although I have completed a non-law degree, my work experience and extracurricular activities demonstrate my passion and commitment. Also, my decision to pursue the GDL shows that I am determined to become a lawyer.
- I don’t think I would be in a law job interview or if I was, I would not focus my answer on my degree. Instead I would draw on my previous experiences.
